Our Clinics & Services

These Clinics and services are only for patients registered at Staverton Surgery. If you would like to book an appointment please see our appointments page.

Acupuncture

Are offered to all eligible people ‘at risk’. Immunisation clinics are publicised at the time. You will also be invited by post, phone or text message.

Cervical Screening

Routine cervical smears are advised for women aged 25-65 with the practice nurse at three yearly intervals. Please book your appointment for a time when you do not have your period. The red blood cells obscure the picture when looking for abnormal cells under the microscope.

Eligible patients can book appointment through invitation sent by our administration team. If you are eligible and your cervical screening is due you will receive self-booking link to book appointment directly into our clinical system.

Child Health Clinic

Children’s immunisations: First immunisation is done by the doctor on Tuesday afternoons.

For all other immunisations, the nurse has a clinic on Tuesday afternoon.

Development checks, weighing and general advice (for well babies only please!) is offered by the doctor or nurse on Tuesday afternoons.

Counselling

The practice hosts the local IAPT Counselling services for adults. This service is available by referral.

Diabetes Clinic

You will need to make an appointment after arranging blood tests, etc.

Healthcare Assistant

Our HCA provides a range of services including NHS Health Check, Over 75’ health checks, Diabetic Clinic, ECG, phlebotomy, flu vaccination.

Health Visitor

The Health Visitor is based at Kilburn Square Clinic. Tel 020 7625 5115

Minor Surgery

We do not offer minor surgery for cosmetic purposes.

We perform a number of procedures in-house including joint injections and cautery.

Certain small surgical operations can be performed at the surgery. With minor surgery the recovery time is usually short and you will be back to your usual activities fairly quickly (depending on your procedure).

Before attending for minor surgery you will need to see a doctor for the diagnosis and then you will be given an appointment to attend for your procedure.

Practice Nurses

Our Practice Nurse provides a range of services including contraceptive advice, wound care, dressings, vaccination.

Social Prescribing

What is a Social Prescriber?

We know that taking care of your health involves more than just medicine. With Kilburn Social Prescribing you can get specialist support for more than medical issues e.g Housing issues, PIP, Attendance allowance, Pension Credit etc.

Your Social Prescriber will contact you and spend time with you exploring the support you may need.

No, our service is free

 

How do I access the service?

It’s simple. You can talk to your GP, health care professional or other staff member at your surgery and ask to be referred. We’ll do the rest.

 

Who is it for?

The Kilburn Social Prescribing service is available to everyone 18+ registered with this GP Practice.
